If you plan to start the 5-day desert trip from Mohammed V Airport, please make sure your flight arrives in the morning so you don’t miss the attractions included in the itinerary. In case of a flight delay, the program may be affected, and you might need to drive directly to Fes, skipping Chefchaouen since it is quite far from Casablanca. Additionally, as this tour already involves long driving hours, we recommend adding an extra 2 days if you have more time, to make the journey more relaxed and enjoyable.
The 5 days Desert trip will start with a pick up from your Hotel or Airport in Casablanca towards Rabat for a sightseeing stop at the Hassan Tower and Kasbah Oudaya, then continue through the Rif Mountains to the enchanting Blue City of Chefchaouen. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Today you’ll have few hours to explore the small medina of Chefchoauen then we’ll drive through the Rif Mountains towards Fes. Upon our arrival to the city you’ll check in your riad, then start a guided walking tour of the Medina, exploring its narrow streets, madrasas, tanneries, and vibrant souks. Overnight in Fes.
At 8:30 am you driver will pick you up from your riad in the heart of old medina, then we’ll start to cross the Middle Atlas via Ifrane (known as the “Switzerland of Morocco”), Azrou cedar forest with wild monkeys, and the Ziz Valley oasis before reaching the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga. You’ll enjoy a fantastic Camel trek at sunset and overnight in a desert camp.
In the morning time , the camp team will wake you up in order to catch a magical sunrise in the desert. After breakfast and Shower, we’ll head towards Rissani ‘s authentic weekly market and Alnif before reaching the spectacular Todra Gorge ( rock climbing destination) . We’ll end the fourth day trip in the Dades Valley for overnight in a hotel overlooking the green fields and local agriculture.
After a tasty breakfast in your Hotel around 8:30 am,, we ‘ll travel along the Rose Valley and Skoura palm groves, then we’ll visit the UNESCO-listed Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou.
