Itinerary

Day 1 : Fes - Ifran - Azrou - Midelt - Errachidia - Ziz valley - Erfoud - Merzouga :

After your breakfast in your riad, we will pick you up and leave Fes travelling towards Merzouga through Midlet and Ziz valley. Today we will travel via the village of Ifran, a beautiful mountains village, referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco”, you will also stop in the cedar forest at the middle Atlas Mountains. During this journey you will explore glimpses of the Middle Atlas mountains and Higher Atlas. Stopping at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of famous cedar forest, the largest in Morocco where you may well sight Barbary apes. After sometimes within the forest, we continue our journey to Midelt along the magnificent hills of the Atlas mountains. You will be travelling through the fascinating Tizi Ntalghamt pass and the Ziz Gorge, taking in views of the High Atlas plateau, you'll notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia, here you will have lunch and enjoy the Berber hospitality, afterwards, you will travel along the attaractive Ziz Valley, stopping for a panoramic views along the way to Erfoud and Rissani. Arrival to Merzouga around afternoon. You will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before you check in to your accomodation. Overnight at your hotel in Merzouga.

Day 2 : Merzouga sightseeing and camel trekking :

Today you will start an explorative journey of the area before your camel trek and spend the night at the sahara camp. Today, you will visit the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan, to discover their music and lifestyle. Not far away there is a lake of Merzouga, with its different typs of birds. You may also visit the nomad wire house where so many Berber handicrafts are priced lower than the big cities. On the afternoon you will ride your camel, by an experienced camel man to explore within the golden sand oucean. Dinner in front of your tent where you will spend the night. Your camp is equipped with flush-toilets.

Day 3 : Merzouga - Rissani - Todra gorge - Dades valley - Dades valley :

In the morning Your camel Guide will wake you up early to see what well may be the best sunrise of your life. You will peacefully cameltrek back to the Merzouga village. Enroute you couldn not fail to appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes changing with the light as the day progresses. After taking a deliciouse breakfast in your riad, you will leave for Rissani, Tinghir, Todra gorges the famouse place for the rock climing in Morocco. After your lunch in the the gorge we will drive towards the Dades Valley, where you'll see the majestic mud castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. Overnight accommodation will be in a fancy hotel overlooking the amazing Dades valley.

Day 4 : Dades valley - Roses valley - Skoura valley - Ouarzazate :

After your breakfast in the hotel we will drive through Dades Valley towards Kalaa M'gouna and Ouarzazat. Our rout over Dades Valley is the way of the thousand kasbahs providing numerous opportunities to take some of the greatest photographic shots of your trip. We will stop in Kalaa Mgouna, “the rose city”, to purchase the rosewater, which will make your linen smell good a long time after your trip is over. Continue to Skoura and visit the Kasbah Ameridil, a well preserved kasbah in this region. After some hiking in the valley, then we stop in a restaurant, overlooking the whole valley, for lunch. Cotinue to Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa”, whose geography and beautiful landscapes has attracted many world class movie producers. Here you may choose to visit the studios, containing props used in movies such as The Mummy, Gladiator and the Last temptation of Christ. Overnight accommodation will be in a hotel at Ourzazate.

Day 5 : Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Atlas mountains - Marrakech :

Morning from your accomodation in Ouarzazate we will head to Marrakech, visiting The Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. The largest Kasbah in Morocco, built by T-hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains during the beginning of the XXth Century. This amaing kasbah used to be one of his stops during his long travel from Sahara desert to Marrakech. And Now its the UNESCO world heritage site since 1987. Our journey will continue through the beautifull Tizi N'tichka Pass (2260m) in the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech. Here we End our 5 days Desert tour from Fes to Marrakech.
